The Red Door

The Biblical meaning of a red door is “protection," or "sanctuary.” In the Old Testament, the Hebrew children were instructed to rub blood on their doorposts so that the Angel of Death would pass over their home. A home with red on the door was protected.

Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown, WV opened its red doors to the Community Kitchen 40 years ago.

Trinity Episcopal Church has been serving the Morgantown faith community since 1819.
Located at 247 Willey Street, just above the downtown area since 1953, Trinity and its members reach the community at large in many ways.
One of its many missions is to house the independent Morgantown Community Kitchen, Monday through Friday, as they serve lunch to those in need.
